This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company's financial records, maintains strong internal controls, oversees the close process, and ensures compliance with GAAP, and regulatory requirements. The Accounting Manager serves as a critical role to the company's technical accounting authority within the greater finance organization.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.Support preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.Ensure proper revenue recognition, job cost accounting, and WIP reporting in accordance with GAAP and internal company policies.Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.Accounting OperationsManage day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets.Manage cash flow reporting and weekly cash position summaries.Partner with adjacent functions within the Payroll, Project Accounting, and FP&A departments.Maintain the integrity of financial systems, chart of accounts, and accounting master data.Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.Provide key information to the Financial Planning and Analysis department to support the development of annual budgets and the performance thereafter.Compliance, Internal Controls, and AuditsManage the design, implementation, maintenance, and adherence of the internal control environment governing financial statements.Coordinate annual audits, tax reporting schedules, and regulatory reporting requirements.Manage compliance with GAAP, contract requirements, bonding, and lender reporting.Team Leadership and DevelopmentBuild, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting team.Establish clear roles, performance expectations, and professional development plans using the #GOALs and performance evaluation frameworks.Promote team engagement by creating a departmental culture of accountability, accuracy, and service to the business.Ability to lead and work with others cooperatively; recognize and reward people for their achievements; and provides constructive and timely coaching, performance assessment and feedback.Responsible for the growth and development of direct reports.
