Accounting Manager


We are seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee the monthly close process and financial reporting for a portfolio of multifamily properties. Reporting to the Controller, this role ensures accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP while leading and mentoring a team of Staff Accountants.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead the monthly general ledger close for multiple properties, including journal entry and account reconciliation review.
  • Manage financial reporting for internal stakeholders, investors, and external agencies.
  • Oversee real estate tax tracking and timely payment of PILOT and land taxes.
  • Manage tenant security deposit accounting and related reconciliations.
  • Maintain supporting schedules and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop Staff Accountants, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Partner with the Controller on process improvements, special projects, and cross-functional initiatives.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA and/or MBA preferred).
  • 7+ years of accounting experience with prior management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and QuickBooks required.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager, property management, or residential construction is a plus.
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
