Job Details

The ideal candidate has strong full-cycle accounting experience, a solid understanding of GAAP, and experience managing the month-end close process. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a growing organization and wants to contribute to a company operating at the intersection of energy, sustainability, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, and account reconciliations
Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjusting entries
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reporting
Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely
Perform bank, credit card, balance sheet, and other account reconciliations
Oversee AP and AR processes, including vendor payments, invoicing, and collections
Monitor cash activity and assist with cash flow reporting and forecasting
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal controls
Support annual audits, tax filings, and other external reporting requirements
Partner with operations, finance, and leadership teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes
Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, controls, and reporting
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and other FP&A initiatives as needed
Support accounting for projects, assets, and other transactions related to the company’s renewable energy operations
Assist with ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as the company continues to grow

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong full-cycle accounting experience, including ownership of the month-end close
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation
Experience with accounting software/ERP systems
Strong Excel skills and ability to work with financial data
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and take ownership of accounting processes in a growing organization

Preferred Qualifications
Previous Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant experience
Experience in renewable energy, energy, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing, construction, or another asset-intensive industry
CPA or CPA-track experience
Experience with project accounting, fixed assets, or capital expenditures
Experience improving accounting processes and internal controls
Experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
Experience with ERP implementations or accounting system upgrades
