Our client is a well-established, multi-state nonprofit organization seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations. OVERVIEW OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER ROLE:

• Lead the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions.
• 
  
• Supervise, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team.
• 
  
• Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting support.
• 
  
• Oversee vendor payments, customer billing, cash applications, and collections.
• 
  
• Ensure the accuracy of financial records while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance.
• 
  
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
• 
  
• Support annual financial audits and collaborate closely with the Controller on reporting and special projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ACCOUNING MANAGER:

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• 
  
• Five (5)+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
• 
  
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, account reconciliations, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.
• 
  
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• 
  
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• 
  
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP or Paycor is preferred.
