JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in managing the financial activities of the organization, overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making for the group. This position involves leading a team of accountants and collaborating with other departments to maintain accurate financial records and achieve organizational goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and develop a team of accountants, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure the team's effectiveness and professional growth.
- Manage AP, AR and bookkeeping priorities for the team.
- Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
- Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
- Ensure the year-end audit is clean and timely.
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.
- Support the monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities
- Supports budget and forecasting activities.
- Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
- Responds to inquiries from the CEO, Dr. of Finance, and other finance and company managers regarding financial results, and special reporting requests.
- Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy as well as assisting in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Support management with special projects and workflow process improvements.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in accounting
- Construction or manufacturing accounting experience preferred
- Experience in navigating through complex technical accounting matters is a must.
- Prior experience managing general ledger and accrual accounting
- Current CPA license preferred
Requirements:
- Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced workplace.
- Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel and general AI tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and organization skills.
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills required.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines required
- Strong knowledge of federal and state laws required
- Strong understanding of GAAP and tax law required
- Strong work ethic and confidentiality skills required
Physical Requirements:

- Reach with hands and arms, bend, stand on a stool or climb, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, or controls.
