Position: Accounting ManagerDepartment: Outsourced AccountingReports To: Service Line Leader / CFOFLSA/Employment Status: Exempt; Full-TimeLocation: San Diego, CA or RemoteCompensation Range $105,000-$130,000Position SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our consulting team and serve as a fractional resource for clients across a variety of industries. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensure compliance, and deliver accurate financial reporting while adapting to different client environments.Areas of AccountabilityAccounting Manager (Administration) Consulting (80%)Engagement Management (10%)Client Management (5%)Admin/Training (5%)OutcomesMeet set annual billable utilization rate.Meet set annual client retention rate.Manage set gross profit margin engagement goals.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Service & DeliveryAct as an outsourced Accounting Manager for multiple clients, managing their accounting functions and ensuring timely, accurate reporting.Oversee and execute month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS standards.Identify gaps in accounting processes and implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain strong internal controls for each client engagement.Collaborate with client teams and internal consultants to deliver high-quality service.Assist clients with accounting system setup, optimization, and integration.Provide insights on cash flow, budgeting, and operational improvements.Serve as a key liaison between the client and internal teamsSupport client audits, including coordination with external auditorsRecommend and implement process improvements and accounting system enhancementsStay updated on accounting standards, industry trends, and regulatory changesSkillsExceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.Ability to adapt quickly to multiple client engagements in different industries and thrive in fast-paced, changing environments.Experience in consulting or fractional roles preferred.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's preferred)CPA or CMA certification strongly preferredMinimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or consultingStrong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standardsProficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, Sage, etc.)Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-first attitudeExperience managing and developing accounting teamsAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentThe ideal candidate possesses leadership and supervisory capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting skills and works proactively to drive resultsAll the above duties and responsibilities are essential job functions subject to reasonable accommodation.
