Summary Of ResponsibilitiesThe corporate accounting manager is responsible for managing corporate accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role collaborates with internal and corporate departments to support financial processes, maintain compliance, and ensure alignment across corporate accounting activities.Primary Responsibilities And ObjectivesManage the day-to-day corporate accounting activities, including general ledger oversight, journal entries, and account reconciliationsLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financials are accurate and completeAssist with and maintain property mapping and GL mapping across multiple accounting platforms to ensure consistent and accurate reportingReview and approve journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP and company policiesPrepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedulesMaintain and enhance internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirementsSupport internal reviews and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and documentationPartner with cross-functional teams (e.g., client accounting, marketing, payroll, and operations) to support business initiatives and financial processesEnsure integrity of the general ledger and consistency across financial systemsIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalabilityProvide guidance and support to accounting staff, including training and review of work products, as applicablePerform other tasks as required when directedEducation And ExperienceBachelor's degree in accounting or finance is requiredCPA license is preferredThree to five years of experience in an accounting role requiredThree to five years of property management experience requiredDirect management experience is requiredPrior experience in Yardi Voyager or other equivalent systems is a plusKnowledge of GAAP in the multi-family property management industry is preferredSkills And RequirementsAdvanced level knowledge of MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (including Excel functions)Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCreates a climate in which associates want to do their best by leading and communicating a shared vision with associates and providing coaching and developmentRequired to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other courses, if assignedSchedulingRequired to maintain a regular schedule which may require working overtime, weekends, and non-traditional holidaysEnvironmentExposure to environment typically found in an office buildingPhysical RequirementsAvenue5 will make reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
