Accounting Manager

Position Overview

• Our client is seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager. This is a manager-level, hands-on Subject Matter Expert (SME) role focused primarily on Revenue Recognition (90%) across the company's Rental, Media, and Construction business units. The successful candidate will partner closely with Product, Legal, Finance, and Technology teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition, support new initiatives, and maintain compliance with accounting standards.
• The ideal candidate has extensive experience with ASC 606, thrives in a fast-paced SaaS or technology environment, and is comfortable balancing strategic accounting guidance with detailed accounting execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Revenue Accounting SME for Rental, Media, and Construction business units.
• Manage and oversee revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
• Partner with Product, Legal, Finance, and Technology teams to support new offerings and accounting initiatives.
• Prepare and review accounting workpapers, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls and internal accounting policies.
• Support financial reporting and improve accounting processes.
• Provide accounting guidance on new products, billing models, and system implementations.
• Perform hands-on accounting work while managing revenue accounting responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Approximately 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong expertise in Revenue Recognition and ASC 606.
• Experience working for a publicly traded or large enterprise company.
• Experience with SOX controls.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and complex formulas.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Workday, Zuora, Stripe, and Paddle.
• Technology, SaaS, or software industry experience.
• CPA is preferred but not required.
• Experience supporting cross-functional business partners and new product launches.
