Job Description Accounting Supervisor LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking and Accounting Supervisor to oversee AP and AR. This role is responsible for supervising a small accounting team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day billing and accounts payable activities. The position oversees two billing specialists and one accounts payable specialist and plays a key role in contract-based and project-related billing processes. This position is direct hire and will pay between $80K and $95K annually. This position is 100% onsite in Downtown Cincinnati and parking is provided by the employer. Responsibilities
  • Supervised and supported two billing specialists and one accounts payable specialist, providing daily guidance, workload management, and performance feedback
  • Actively processed and reviewed customer billing, including contract-based, time and materials, and project-driven invoicing
  • Reviewed billing support such as timesheets, project documentation, and contract terms to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Assisted with complex or high-volume billing activities during peak periods and month-end close
  • Performed and supported accounts payable functions, including invoice entry, coding, reconciliation, and payment processing
  • Ensured billing and payables complied with internal policies, contract requirements, and established procedures
  • Resolved billing discrepancies and worked closely with internal stakeholders to address questions or issues
  • Reviewed and approved work completed by the billing and accounts payable team for accuracy and completeness
  • Assisted with month-end close activities related to billing, receivables, and payables
  • Identified process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls within billing and AP functions
  • Trained new team members and cross-trained staff to ensure coverage and continuity
Qualifications
  • Bachelor or associate degree in business is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience supervising or leading accounting staff in a hands-on environment
  • Strong background in billing involving contracts, time and materials, and project-based work
  • Solid understanding of accounts payable processes and willingness to assist as needed
  • Experience reviewing contracts and supporting documentation for billing accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Experience with accounting or ERP systems and strong Excel skills
