This role performs advanced accounting functions, supports month-end and year-end close activities, oversees sales and use tax compliance processes, contributes to financial process improvement initiatives and supervises and develops staff.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)Accounting Operations and Financial Reporting [40%]Perform and oversee general accounting activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, treasury management, and financial reporting support in compliance with FASB and GAAP or other regulatory agenciesSupport monthly and year-end close processes while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standardsReview financial transactions and supporting documentation to maintain integrity of financial records and reportingSales Tax, Compliance and Audit Support [25%]Coordinates and supports multi-state sales and use tax compliance activities, filings, and reporting requirementsSupport internal and external audit activities through preparation of reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentationResearch and resolve accounting, tax, and reporting discrepancies as neededTeam Leadership and Operational Oversight [20%]Provide day-to-day guidance, workflow coordination, and operational support for accounting team membersSupport accountability, consistency, and timely completion of departmental responsibilitiesAssist leadership in identifying process improvement opportunities and supporting operational efficiency within the accounting functionSystems and Process Improvement [10%]Support ERP system troubleshooting, accounting process improvements, and documentation updates;Collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational effectivenessOther Duties [5%]Perform additional accounting, reporting, and special project responsibilities as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position provides day-to-day oversight and workflow coordination for accounting associates. While this role may not have full managerial authority, it is expected to support accountability, training and development, collaboration, and operational continuity within the department.QUALIFICATIONSRequired:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
