Accounting Supervisor

A growing healthcare services organization is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to lead a team of accounting professionals and oversee the full-cycle accounting function. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys mentoring teams, improving processes, and partnering with leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this individual will play a key role in financial close, reporting, compliance, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment
• Delegate responsibilities while maintaining oversight of critical accounting functions
• Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and support employee development
• Effectively lead professionals with varying backgrounds, experience levels, and work styles

Accounting & Financial Close

• Oversee full-cycle accounting activities including:

• General ledger maintenance

• Journal entries

• Account reconciliations

• Accruals and prepaids

• Fixed assets

• Revenue and expense recognition

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

• Review financial statements and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness

• Analyze financial results and investigate variances

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare and review financial reports for senior leadership
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
• Support external audits and assist with audit requests
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
• Identify and implement process improvement initiatives

Business Partnership

• Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams on accounting-related matters
• Communicate financial results, risks, and recommendations to management
• Present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong full-cycle accounting expertise
• 3+ years of accounting experience within a Management Services Organization (MSO)
• 2+ years of experience leading or supervising accounting teams
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with Sage Intacct and advanced Excel skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Hands-on leadership style with strong technical accounting knowledge
