About this Job

The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is to primarily serve the veteran population of Louisiana by providing medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion. The primary objective of the home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.

The Louisiana Veterans Home is seeking an Accounting Technician. The incumbent of this position performs basic accounting functions and is directly responsible for all residents transactions as related to residents funds, disbursements, collections compiling and analyzing data for financial control and fiscal reporting for monthly and quarterly reports.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience or training in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial operations or computations.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Job Duties:

  • Maintains resident trust account
  • Prepares financial reports and documentation
  • Provides customer and administrative support

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm

Compensation: The minimum hire rate for the Accounting Technician is $16.86/ hourly.
