Accounts Payable Specialist

Our mission-driven nonprofit client is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations. This position is responsible for invoice processing, payment administration, vendor communications, reconciliations, journal entries, 1099 reporting support, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process invoices from receipt through payment
• Obtain approvals and ensure accurate coding
• Enter invoices and journal entries into the accounting system
• Perform AP, prepaid expense, and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain vendor records and assist with 1099 preparation
• Respond to vendor and employee inquiries
• Support audits and other accounting-related projects

Qualifications:

• Seeking candidates with a stable career progression and strong tenure in previous roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR 5+ years of accounts payable experience with a stable work history
• Recent Accounting or Finance graduates encouraged to apply
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
• Excellent communication and follow-up abilities
