Position Summary

Sunshine Community Health Center (SCHC) is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to support the Finance Department through accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions and financial data.

This position documents approvals, assigns account codes, processes payments, maintains vendor records, enters financial information into the accounting system, and assists with resolving invoice discrepancies. The Accounts Payable Clerk also cross-trains with staff accountants and may provide support for other Finance Department functions as needed.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in accounting, accounts payable, or data entry.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping.
• Ability to organize work, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in prioritizing tasks.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff members, vendors, and other business contacts.
• Ability to use computers, calculators, spreadsheet applications, and accounting software.
• Ability to follow established policies, procedures, and oral and written instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of vocational or technical training in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field.
• Previous accounts payable or bookkeeping experience.
• Experience processing invoices, maintaining vendor records, or resolving billing discrepancies.
• Experience working with accounting software and financial data entry.
• Experience working in a healthcare, nonprofit, or similarly regulated environment.

Work Environment

This position works in a healthcare clinic or office environment and regularly uses computers, accounting systems, spreadsheets, telephones, and other office technology. The role involves frequent communication with SCHC staff, vendors, and other business contacts and requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
