Accounts Payable Manager

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead a team of three AP professionals while overseeing the full accounts payable function across multiple entities. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys improving processes, developing staff, and ensuring timely and accurate payments in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of 3 Accounts Payable staff members
• Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process for multiple entities
• Manage vendor relationships and resolve payment-related issues
• Review invoice coding, approvals, and payment processing for accuracy and compliance
• Oversee ACH payments, wire transfers, and check runs
• Manage employee expense reimbursements through Concur
• Lead the annual 1099 preparation and filing process
• Ensure timely month-end AP close activities and account reconciliations
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes, controls, and efficiency
• Partner with internal stakeholders to support business operations and vendor management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 5+ years of accounts payable experience with full-cycle AP responsibilities
• 2+ years of experience supervising or managing Accounts Payable staff
• Strong understanding of invoice processing, payment methods, and vendor management
• Experience managing ACH, wire, and check payment processes
• Experience with expense reporting platforms such as Concur
• Knowledge of 1099 reporting requirements
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis
• Construction industry experience is a plus
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
