Salary: $41,600 - $52,000 DOE

A well-established energy and industrial services company in the Taft area is looking to add an Accounts Payable Specialist to its accounting team. With long-standing operations throughout Kern County, the organization plays an important role in supporting regional energy production and field operations. This position is a key part of maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring vendors are paid on time, helping keep day-to-day business running smoothly.

The Opportunity

This role has been created to support continued operational activity and growing accounting needs. The Accounts Payable Specialist will take ownership of the full AP process, working closely with accounting, operations, and vendors to ensure invoices are processed accurately and efficiently.

What You'll Do

• Process high-volume vendor invoices while ensuring accuracy and proper coding to general ledger accounts

• Review and reconcile vendor statements, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner

• Maintain accounts payable records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies

• Coordinate with operations, purchasing, and management teams to obtain invoice approvals and resolve payment issues

• Prepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, and reporting related to outstanding payables

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience

• Experience processing invoices, reconciliations, and vendor account maintenance

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems

• Experience in energy, construction, manufacturing, industrial services, or a related industry is preferred
