Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Specialist compiles and maintains accounts payable records.

1. Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
2. Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks
3. Distributes signed checks as required
4. Answers all vendor inquires
5. Match shippers to incoming invoices and code for Data Entry.
6. Enter invoices into the computer for payment on a daily basis.
7. Run accounts payable checks as required
8. Assists in monthly closings
9. Run all reports as required for accounts payable.
10. Reconcile American Express Statement
11. Submit invoices to purchasing to correct discrepancies.
12. Support all quality system requirements.
13. And all other duties as required by management.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Minimum Education Requirements:

• High School Degree or equivalent
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree
• Accounting Knowledge

Minimum Experience Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience
