Description

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Washington, DC. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable:
  • Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, coding, approvals, and payment processing
  • Review and process vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with organizational policies
  • Prepare and execute electronic payments, ACH transactions, wire transfers, and check runs
  • Maintain vendor records, including W-9 documentation and payment information
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Reconcile AP subledger balances and assist with month-end close activities
  • Prepare and distribute annual Form 1099 reporting as needed
Finance & Accounting Support:
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other balance sheet accounts
  • Support budget tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Assist in preparing financial reports for management, boards, and external stakeholders
  • Monitor and maintain internal controls related to financial transactions and disbursements
  • Support cash management activities and maintain accurate records of financial transactions
Nonprofit Compliance & Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting principles, internal policies, and funding requirements
  • Assist with grant expenditure tracking and reporting
  • Support annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to auditor requests
  • Maintain organized accounting records and documentation to support compliance and reporting requirements
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to strengthen financial operations and efficiency

Requirements:

  • Strong AP experience (minimum of 5+ years)
  • Comfortable working in a manual environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
