Accounts Payable Specialist

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process high-volume vendor invoices, check requests, and employee expense reports in a timely and accurate manner
• Review, code, and ensure proper approval of invoices, allocating expenses to appropriate grants, programs, and general ledger accounts
• Perform 2-way and 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts as applicable
• Execute weekly payment runs (ACH, wire, and checks) while adhering to internal controls and payment schedules
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate and organized AP records, including documentation required for audits and compliance
• Monitor AP aging and ensure timely payments
• Assist with month-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of AP-related schedules
• Support grant accounting efforts by ensuring expenses are properly tracked and reported
• Collaborate with program managers and finance team
• Assist with audit preparation and documentation
