A day in this role

You start your morning reviewing aging schedules, spotting trends, and flagging high-risk accounts. By mid-morning, you99re on the phone with customers 1 negotiating win1win payment arrangements that align with policy while preserving relationships. After lunch, you untangle a billing discrepancy by partnering with customer service and operations, documenting every step in the collections system. You wrap up the day by updating cash forecasts, preparing management-ready summaries, and recommending process tweaks that move key metrics in the right direction.

What you99ll handle

• Drive recovery on past-due accounts through tailored strategies built from account history and risk indicators.
• Serve as the main contact for delinquent customers, using clear, persuasive communication to secure commitments.
• Analyze AR aging and payment behavior to surface and prioritize high-risk receivables.
• Negotiate settlements, payment plans, and revised terms that maximize recovery and follow company policy.
• Resolve disputes and billing errors quickly and professionally; answer account questions with care.
• Record all outreach, agreements, and outcomes in the collections platform with precision.
• Escalate chronic or high1exposure issues to leadership with context and recommendations.
• Operate in full compliance with FDCPA, CFPB guidance, and applicable state regulations.
• Build reports on performance, aging, and forecasted recoveries to inform decision1making.
• Spot and champion process improvements that increase efficiency and effectiveness.

What you bring

• 3+ years in collections, credit control, or accounts receivable in a fast1paced setting.
• High school diploma required; associate9s/bachelor9s in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
• Strong command of collections practices, credit laws, and governing regulations.
• Negotiation finesse and relationship skills that protect customer goodwill.
• Analytical mindset, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage a large portfolio with professionalism and tact.
• Proficiency with collections software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office.
• History of meeting or exceeding recovery targets.
• Bonus: strength in Customer Service, ERP & MRP Systems, and Collections.
