Accounts Receivable

SALARY: $26-$28/hr.

LOCATION: Portland, OR

SCHEDULE: Full-time; Monday-Friday | 7:00am-4:00pm or 8:00am-5:00pm

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Reconcile payments and customer accounts, research discrepancies, and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.

• Keep aging current, apply credits, and resolve outstanding account differences.

• Record bank deposits, update and distribute cash receipt logs, and post payments to the accounts receivable subledger.

• Communicate discrepancies and slow-paying accounts to collections and management, recommending accounts for collection follow-up.

• Contact customers regarding inaccurate remittance information and duplicate payments.

• Collaborate with Division Managers to identify gaps in operational checks and balances and recommend process improvements.

• Maintain confidentiality and follow applicable financial reporting requirements.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• High school diploma or equivalent and an understanding of basic accounting, finance, and bookkeeping principles.

• Strong attention to detail, mathematical skills, time management, and accurate data entry.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Ability to work independently, contribute to a team, and handle confidential information with discretion.

• A curious mindset and willingness to learn new systems and processes.

• Previous accounts receivable or accounts payable experience preferred.

• Experience with Great Plains or similar accounting software, such as Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite, preferred.

• AS400, transportation industry, and process improvement experience are a plus.
