Wage

• Activity Assistant – CNA: $20.19 - $27.38 per hour
• Activity Assistant – Non-CNA: $19.09 - $27.46 per hour
• Employees who are hired as a non-CNA Activity Assistant and subsequently obtain their CNA certification will move to the applicable CNA wage range.

Starting wage within the range is based on qualifications and experience.

Position Summary

Join our team at Cook Hospital & Care Center and help create meaningful, engaging experiences for our residents. The Activity Assistant works closely with the Activity Director to provide a variety of activities designed to meet the physical, social, emotional, and recreational needs of our residents and swing bed patients.

The Activity Assistant assists with planning, organizing, and leading activities that reflect the individual interests, abilities, and preferences of residents and swing bed patients. This position helps create a positive, stimulating environment where residents can remain active, engaged, and connected with others.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and providing a variety of recreational, social, physical, and therapeutic activities.
• Encourage resident participation while respecting individual interests, abilities, and preferences.
• Assist with group and one-on-one activities.
• Help maintain a welcoming and engaging activity environment.
• Work collaboratively with the Activity Director and other members of the care team.
• Support activities and special events throughout the facility.
• Maintain required documentation related to activities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certification/Licensure:

• Current CNA certification or ability to successfully complete a CNA course within six months of hire.
• Candidates with qualifications such as LPN, COTA, Recreational Therapist, Activity Director, or a related credential are encouraged to apply.
• Must maintain any required certification or licensure while employed in the position.
• Must successfully meet criminal background check requirements.

Experience:
One to two years of experience working in activities, recreation, healthcare, long-term care, or a related setting is preferred.
