    Description

    Phenom Consulting has partnered with a leading healthcare organization to grow their Actuarial team. We are seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst with experience in the healthcare industry.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Develop and maintain actuarial models, analyzing data, and offering 

      strategic insights to support the pricing and bidding processes for Medicare Advantage plans
    • Play a key role in crafting and executing pricing strategies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing vital insights to improve the performance of our Medicare Advantage plans

    • Formulate and execute bid pricing strategies with analytical precision to evaluate the financial performance impact of product designs for Medicare Advantage plans, aiming to optimize outcomes.
    • Interpret regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance with Medicare Advantage bid requirements.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, market, executive teams, and others to integrate market trends, competitive analysis, and organizational objectives into pricing decisions

    • Develop key inputs and assumptions in support of the annual Medicare Advantage bid process
    • Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario testing to evaluate various factors' impacts on bid pricing outcomes
    • Analyze healthcare claims data, enrollment data, and other relevant information to detect trends and patterns

    • Work closely with data analysts and actuaries to ensure data accuracy and completeness in the pricing process

    • Generating regular reports for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and providing insights into financial results

    • Analyzing extensive datasets to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in pricing methodologies

    What to Bring:

    • Passed 4+ exams toward the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
    • 5+ years of experience in healthcare actuarial roles

    • 2+ years of actuarial experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or a related field

    • Proficiency in writing queries using SQL or other programming languages

    • Proven experience in applying project management skills in data-related and financial analysis projects

    • Deep knowledge of Medicare Advantage regulations and risk adjustment methodologies, along with a strong analytical skill set

    Preferred experience:

    • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation

    • Fellow or Associate designation in the Society of Actuaries (FSA or ASA)

    • Experience with Medicare Bid processes.
