    Job Summary

    The Angell Snyder School of Business at Ottawa University is hiring Adjunct Instructors for its Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program. Adjunct faculty in the DBA program play a vital role in developing practitioner-scholars who integrate rigorous research with real-world business practice in our three-year, application-focused doctoral program.

    Accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, our DBA program features accelerated, 8-week courses. Course instruction includes both online content delivery with a mandatory three-day weekend residency once per term for in-person instruction at either our Overland Park, KS, or Surprise, AZ campus. The mandatory weekend residency is facilitated on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, generally in Week 2 of the 8-week course.

    Strong preference will be given to candidates with academic credentials and teaching experience in Qualitative Research Methods and Quantitative Research Methods.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Engaged Teaching: Teach assigned doctoral-level content or research methodology courses using effective online and hybrid instructional strategies.
    • Doctoral Mentorship: Guide practitioner-scholars in executing high-impact, applied business research and strategic projects that bridge academic theory with practical industry applications.
    • Assessment & Scholarly Feedback: Evaluate student coursework and research outputs in a timely manner by providing qualitative and quantitative feedback that advances critical thinking and scholarly writing.
    • Timely Communication: Maintain frequent and open communication with students and the Director of the DBA program via Ottawa University's email and Blackboard Ultra.
    • Weekend Residencies: Participate in a weekend residency once per term to deliver in-person instruction. Travel expenses are covered by Ottawa University.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Out-of-field or master's degree faculty within two or more of the following areas: in-field professional certification, in-field professional employment, evidence of higher performing student learning outcome results, in-field scholarship, and relevant additional training equivalent to 15 semester/22 quarter credit hours.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION: Earned Doctorate in teaching field; Juris Doctorate to teach law courses; or out-of-field doctorate with 15 semester/22 quarter graduate credit hours or equivalent of courses in field AND a record of recognized scholarship, creative endeavor, or achievement in practice commensurate with doctoral expectations.

    ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: List required and/or preferred certification, industry specific requirements, required or preferred use of equipment, and all necessary job skills, abilities, and knowledge competencies) Provide a list of items below:

    • Experience with Blackboard or other similar online course platforms.
    • Experience with Zoom, Skype, or WebEx
