Adjunct Faculty - Clinical Nursing Instructor

Position Description:The Vanguard University Department of Nursing seeks to hire an adjunct nursing faculty to teach for the BSN Prelicensure program in a clinical setting. We are looking for Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Medical-Surgical/Critical Care, and Mental Health instructors with a minimum of one year of continuous direct patient care nursing experience or teaching as a clinical instructor in one of these clinical areas within the last five years. Applicants must hold a current active and unencumbered California RN license. The instructor is expected to be on site with the students during the clinical experience.

Essential Functions:

• Supervise and facilitate student learning in the clinical setting and skills lab.
• Assess student knowledge and skill level to ensure safety and best care for patients.
• Conduct pre- and post- conference to clarify objectives, communicate expectations and to allow students to discuss and share learned experiences.
• Evaluate student performance providing feedback to support student success
• Attend department, program, and/or clinical level meetings

Minimum qualifications:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Established area of clinical experience and skills
   

Salary:

The pay for this position varies depending on the degree attained and the scheduled shift. $50-55/hr ($3.00 weekend differential)
