    Position Summary

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching and promoting success among a diverse student population. Faculty members are responsible for developing educational and evaluation materials consistent with the philosophy and framework of the program, MassBay Community College and in accordance with National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence. The faculty member is responsible for maintaining all current ASE certifications.

    MassBay Community College invites applicants for an Automotive Instructor. MassBay is seeking a dynamic, articulate, proven team player with an ability to manage a positive teaching/learning classroom in the area of Automotive Technology. This position at the rank of Adjunct Instructor will begin in September 2023.

    Key Responsibilities and Duties

    • Develop and teach undergraduate courses for a two-year automotive service technician program;
    • Maintain a professional teaching learning environment;
    • Maintain ASE accreditation for the program and teach to ASE standards;
    • Manage classroom and shop/lab to ensure that there is a productive and safe learning environment.
    • Promote college programs and enhance community relationships.
    • Serve on College committees as elected or appointed;
    • Select and recommend suitable instructional materials, and textbooks;
    • Use technology effectively to communicate and to enhance classroom learning as appropriate;
    • Maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation required by MassBay;
    • Collaborating with faculty, staff, and students on the College's strategic initiatives dedicated to closing the equity gap related to student outcomes;
    • Support MassBay's commitment to being anti-racist; embracing a community free of bias and inequality;
