The Department of Management & Marketing in Winthrop University's College of Business and Technology invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty member to teach MGMT 323: Acquiring Talent.

MGMT 323 introduces students to the talent acquisition process within organizations, including recruitment, selection, and compensation and benefits as they relate to attracting and acquiring talent. The course emphasizes the application of human resource management concepts to contemporary organizational practices.

The ideal candidate will bring relevant academic and/or professional experience in human resources, talent acquisition, recruitment, or a related management field and demonstrate a commitment to engaging, student-centered instruction.

Position Responsibilities

• Teach MGMT 323: Acquiring Talent in accordance with established course objectives and departmental expectations.
• Provide engaging, student-centered instruction on recruitment, selection, talent acquisition, and related compensation and benefits topics.
• Connect course concepts to current human resource management practices and real-world organizational challenges.
• Develop and deliver course materials, assignments, assessments, and learning activities that support achievement of course learning outcomes.
• Incorporate relevant professional examples, applied activities, and contemporary HR practices into the course when appropriate.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and maintain appropriate communication with students throughout the semester.
• Maintain accurate course records and submit grades and other required materials in accordance with University policies and deadlines.
• Collaborate with the Department of Management & Marketing to ensure consistency with program and curricular expectations.

Position Availability 01/01/2027 Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
• Demonstrated knowledge of human resource management principles and practices, particularly in talent acquisition, recruitment, selection, and related areas.
• Ability to effectively teach and engage undergraduate students.
• Commitment to student learning and success.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience in human resources, talent acquisition, recruiting, selection, or a related area.
• Prior experience teaching at the college or university level.
• Professional HR certification, such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
• Experience applying contemporary talent acquisition practices and technologies in an organizational setting.
• Experience incorporating real-world examples, cases, or applied learning activities into instruction.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and mentor undergraduate students.

Employment Conditions

Position is part-time, non-tenure-track, adjunct.
