This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Adjunct Faculty - Music Recording Arts who will be all-in on our mission and who will be responsible for teaching courses in audio production, sound recording, live sound reinforcement, music technology, and related Recording Arts disciplines. This position provides instruction, mentorship, and hands-on training to students pursuing careers in audio engineering and live production while supporting the recording, amplification, and technical production needs of the Music Department. Teaching responsibilities include classroom, studio, laboratory, and performance-based instruction; course preparation; assessment of student learning; and maintaining expertise in the subjects taught. This position may also oversee student audio production projects and support departmental performances, events, and recording activities.
This position is filled on an as need basis, contingent upon institutional needs.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: Associates Degree or higher in Recording Arts, Audio Engineering, Music Technology, Music, or a related field.
Preferred: Bachelors Degree or higher in Recording Arts, Audio Engineering, Music Technology, Music, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: One (1) year of professional experience with demonstrated teaching competence for the subject and levels taught. Professional experience includes composition, performance, conducting, audio mixing, etc., and is separate from teaching experience.

Salary: Amarillo College Pay Grades, please review the TEACHING OVERLOAD COMPENSATION and ADJUNCT FACULTY COMPENSATION chart to view the salary pay scale. This is based on your highest level of education.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and move throughout classroom, studio, laboratory, and performance environments. The employee must be able to lift, move, and set up audio equipment and materials weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
Work Environment: Work is performed in classroom, recording studio, laboratory, performance, online, and technology-supported learning environments. This position routinely utilizes audio production equipment, recording systems, microphones, speakers, mixing consoles, computers, instructional technology, and other standard classroom and office equipment.
