Position Overview

This Adjunct faculty member provides lecture and clinical teaching in a multi-option, NLN-AC National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission accredited Associate degree Nursing program.

Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.

What you will be doing

  • Supervises students in clinical settings
  • Teaches nursing skills and health assessment
  • Assigns grades for classes taught
  • Complies with all class schedules and deadlines for course documentation
  • Acts as a professional representative with the affiliating agency on behalf of the College
  • Teaches the assigned course consistent with course syllabus and school curriculum
  • May be assigned to provide academic advisement
  • May be assigned to participate in departmental and College affairs
  • May be assigned to develop curricula
  • May be assigned to recruit students
  • May be assigned to serve on committees
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed

  • Masters degree with Nursing major; and Valid Florida License to practice Nursing; and Two (2) Years Equivalent Full-Time Clinical Practice experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Theoretical and clinical expertise in medical-surgical nursing and/or additional ability to teach psychiatric or obstetrical or community health or pediatric nursing required
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with students
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
  • Must be able to travel between campuses and clinical agencies
