    About This Opportunity:

    Life University is seeking to build a pool of qualified candidates as an open application for Adjunct Faculty positions in our College of Graduate and Undergraduate Studies, across various academic disciplines. While this is an open application, meaning specific positions in your area of expertise may not currently be available, your application will remain on file for consideration as needs arise within our programs.

    The purpose of faculty members is to fulfill the educational mission of the department, the college, and the university in cooperation with the other members of the department and others in the university community.

    Faculty positions are primarily in-person, aligning with the hands-on, collaborative nature of our educational approach. However, depending on the program and course offerings, opportunities to teach online sections may also be available. This flexibility allows us to serve a diverse range of student needs while providing faculty with an engaging and dynamic teaching environment.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Comply with the Life University Honor Code as well as all university and college policies, including those in the Faculty Handbook.
    • Primarily responsible for the instruction, supervision, and evaluation of students in the classroom and/or laboratory setting as well as course assessments for the department.
    • Prepare a syllabus for each course taught using the college template and post it to the class on the Blackboard site.
    • Teach class in a professional manner, covering the material outlined in the syllabus and course outline.
    • Start and end each class on time.
    • Post in a prominent place your teaching and student office hours schedule for each quarter. Be present during student office hours, which are primarily for communicating with students regarding the courses you are teaching and for academic advising.
    • Appropriately maintain all necessary records for each course taught.
    • Request peers to assist you in proctoring exams. For large classes, every exam should have at least one proctor and the instructor present.
    • Attend scheduled meetings and events as appropriate and as requested by your supervisor.
    • Cultivate in yourself and others an attitude of helpfulness, personal commitment to building relationships, managing to the best solution, and a user-friendly approach at all times.

    Education, Experience, and/or Training:

    • Master's degree in a relevant field is required; doctorate degree is preferred.
    • Demonstrated teaching experience is required.
    • Positions are primarily in-person; however, depending on the program, online sections may be available.

    • Strong teaching and laboratory skills.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work with and maintain confidentiality regarding student and employee information.
    • Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple projects while adhering to strict timelines.

    • High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
    • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency in multimedia and computer skills.
