    Job Description

    Part-time Spanish Language Instructor

    The World Language Program in the School of Humanities, Education, Justice & Social Sciences at Lasell College is seeking a part-time instructor to teach an Introductory Spanish for Professionals course. We currently have an opening for 1 class session that starts Sept 2.

    SPAN111 is the first level of Elementary Spanish - we anticipate that the faculty member hired will also teach ASL112 in the spring semester.

    This is a face-to-face course that has been scheduled Monday/Wednesday 11:00 - 12:14.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Develop a syllabus and course outline for students that clearly communicates course learning outcomes and focuses on the ability to communicate in Spanish in professional settings for Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Health Professions.
    • Provide instruction for all sessions of assigned courses utilizing the college philosophy of connected learning.
    • Maintain office hours each week.
    • Incorporate Canvas (online learning platform) into the course.
    • Keep accurate records of student progress (grades) and complete mid-semester and final grade reports.
    • Collaborate with other language instructors to determine appropriate leveling and pre-requisite work

    Qualifications:

    Experience teaching Spanish, as well as a master's degree or ABD in a related field are required. A willingness to incorporate the college's Connected Learning Philosophy into the course is also important.
