    Skip to content Admissions Menu Job Details Job Title: Adjunct Instructor for Microbiology Department: School of Science and Health Reports To: Sean Baldridge Job Type: This is a part time, exempt position. General Description: William Woods University is now accepting applications for a part-time adjunct faculty to teach a lecture/lab for Microbiology for the Fall 2026 semester. The lecture meets Tuesday and Thursday from 10:50-12:05, and the lab meets Wednesday from 2:00-5:00. The weekly lab activities are already prepared. The instructor's responsibilities will be to teach the lecture portion, facilitate the lab, grade work, and prepare and put away the lab materials. Previous course materials can be provided upon request. This is an in-person position. Position Requirements: · A doctorate in biology is preferred, but applicants with a masters in biology will be considered. · Experience teaching labs and professional working experience in the related fields is preferred. · Applicants must have at least five (5) years of experience in the field related to the course(s) they will teach. · Demonstrated teaching effectiveness. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations. · Demonstrated time management and detail-oriented skills. · Excellent computer skills. · Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines. · Ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse school/campus constituents. · Ability to develop and complete projects without continued direct supervision. · Outstanding conflict resolution skills.
