Job Type\n \nAdjunct Faculty\n \nSalary Range\n \n$1000 - $1350 per credit\n \nStart Date\n \nAs soon as possible\n \nFLSA Status\n \nExempt\n \nApplication Deadline\n \nNov 12, 2026\n \nContact\n \nPlease submit an online application.\n \nJob Description \n \nSummary & Key Responsibilities\n \nAdjunct faculty responsibilities include the preparation for, and the teaching of, one or more assigned courses.\n \nPreparation includes: construction of an appropriate and up-to-date syllabus to be posted in the course shell(s) on the LIU learning platform at least three days prior to the start of class; a welcome letter posted in the course shell(s) at least three days prior to the start of class; submission of the syllabus to LIU Hudson at least one week prior to the start of class; attendance at Faculty Receptions/Meetings at the start of the fall and spring semesters; timely submission of grades no more than 48 hours following the last class of the semester.\n \nSuccessful teaching includes: sharing course content/information; engaging students in critical thinking about course content and their field of study; encouraging a breadth and depth of thinking.\n \nSuccessful teaching at the graduate level also demands a high degree of professionalism and the ability to support students as their courses present them with intellectual and methodological challenges.\n \nEducation Requirements\n\n* ABD or master's degree holder with relevant experience and expertise in the teaching of the specific subject matter \n \nLIU is an equal opportunity employer.
