The Department of Health and Human Performance at the University of Houston seeks applications for a part-time, non-tenure track, Adjunct Faculty position.

The Adjunct Faculty will teach undergraduate courses in Nutrition and Dietetics, with primary teaching responsibilities in Introduction to Nutrition and other nutrition-related courses as assigned. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement. The University seeks candidates who can effectively support student learning and contribute to the preparation of students pursuing careers in nutrition, dietetics, and other health-related professions.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: (1) Teach Introduction to Nutrition and other assigned undergraduate nutrition and dietetics courses; (2) prepare and deliver course content in accordance with departmental guidelines; (3) evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback; (4) maintain accurate course records and submit grades by established deadlines; (5) maintain appropriate communication and availability to support student success; and (6) teach courses in face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Master''s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Public Health Nutrition, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
• Demonstrated expertise in nutrition and dietetics.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to student-centered teaching and learning.
• Ability to teach undergraduate nutrition courses effectively in a variety of instructional modalities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related field.
• Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Experience teaching Introduction to Nutrition and other undergraduate nutrition courses.
• Professional experience in clinical nutrition, community nutrition, public health nutrition, wellness, sports nutrition, or foodservice management.
• Experience with online instruction and learning management systems.
• Active membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and/or relevant professional organizations.

Employees are expected to have a home address in the state of Texas for the duration of their appointments.

Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidates.
