    Adjunct Job Title Adjunct, Phlebotomy Technician Discipline(s) Adjunct Job Description

    Position Summary:

    Phlebotomy instructors provide both didactic and skills instruction in the Phlebotomy Technician program to prepare continuing education students for clinical experience and employment. Instructor evaluates students by a variety of means to measure progress in achieving course objectives and skills mastery and informs students of their progress.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Conduct organized classes at the instructional level to meet the educational requirements stated in the course description and objectives.

    2. Teach core skills related to phlebotomy and other lab techniques

    3. Evaluate the progress of each student; notify students in need of remediation and/or tutoring services.

    4. Prepare students for required clinical course

    5. Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.

    6. Participate in appropriate professional development activities to assure currency in both discipline, knowledge and instructional methods

    Required Minimum Qualifications:

    1. Hold a current/active Phlebotomist Certification.

    2. Related professional experience or appropriate professional licensure in content area or closely related field

    3. Knowledge of current phlebotomy protocol and procedures.

    Desired Qualifications:

    1. Possess an Associate degree or higher.

    2. Previous teaching experience (classroom or corporate training).

    3. Experience using Blackboard LMS and PowerPoint.

    4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    5. Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

    6. Two years of experience as a phlebotomist
