Administrative Assistant I

Summary of Job Purpose:

• The Health, Safety and Environmental Intern will support the HSE department with day to day activities ensuring a safe and environment for all employees.
• This role provides hands-on experience in HSE, Operations, Facilities, and other department operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct HSE inspections of the facility and operations.
• Assist with conducting and documenting process risk assessments including developing improvement actions to reduce risk.
• Develop HSE communications as necessary to properly inform site personnel of necessary HSE priorities.
• Update Emergency Response Manual
• Develop, construct and procure new employee HSE/Facilities/Security handbook
• Work with necessary department personnel to develop and implement the site Business Continuity Plan.
• Conduct HSE training sessions for site personnel
• Perform general administrative support for the HSE department
• Help the site prepare for the upcoming corporate HSE management system audit.

Required Competencies; Education / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in health and safety, Environmental studies, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Power point and Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and cross functionally with a team.
