THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO CURRENT LOUISVILLE METRO POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES
The purpose of this position is to greet and communicate with the public and performs clerical duties.
This class works under general supervision.
Examples of Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Greets the public and directs them to office locations for service or assistance, and answers telephone, takes messages and routes calls.
Operates office equipment.
Tracks equipment, supplies and materials, and prepares status reports.
Maintains and orders supplies and equipment.
Records MIW's, arrest, citations, JC3's, missing persons and CIT reports.
Collects, sorts and delivers mail, packages and supplies.
Prepares and submits work orders for the designated facility.
Contacts citizens to engage and follow-up regarding questions, concerns, and issues.
Assists Command Staff and Officers with various orders, reports and requests for community events.
Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
MUST BE A CURRENT LOUISVILLE METRO POLICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
Six (6) months of clerical experience.
EQUIVALENCY: An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be substituted.
OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must type accurately at 20 wpm
Must be of good moral character, with no criminal or felony record inconsistent with the provisions of this paragraph. Unacceptable will be persons who have been convicted of a felony, or who have any criminal action pending against them.
An applicant may be disqualified for multiple misdemeanors, an unacceptable criminal record, or multiple traffic violations.
Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening.
Must submit to a pre-employment polygraph test.
Applicants who have illegally bought or used marijuana, including medicinal cannabis, within six months of application will be disqualified.
Applicants who have illegally sold marijuana, including medicinal cannabis, within one year of application will be disqualified.
Applicants who have illegally bought, sold, or used any controlled substance or narcotic drug, other than marijuana, without a prescription within six years of application will be disqualified.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
