    Job Description

    Who We Are:

    Shipping & Receiving supports SwRI operations by coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, receiving materials, maintaining shipping documentation, supporting inventory activities, and ensuring accurate records for domestic and international transportation requirements. By joining our team, you will receive an additional $500.00 in your first paycheck (minus applicable taxes).

    Objectives of this Role:
    • Support Shipping/Receiving, Inventory, and Warehouse functions through advanced, accurate administrative work.
    • Ensure smooth daily operations by maintaining organized documentation, records, and workflow systems.
    • Serve as a reliable communication link between supervisors, internal customers, and cross-functional teams.
    • Improve departmental efficiency by identifying process gaps and implementing practical administrative improvements.
    • Provide high-quality administrative support that enables leadership to focus on operational and strategic priorities.
    Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
    • Process and maintain shipping, receiving, tracking, and departmental documentation.
    • Enter and update information in applicable SwRI systems, spreadsheets, and tracking tools.
    • Assist with Shipping Request Forms, receiving documentation, package records, and internal requests.
    • Communicate with employees, carriers, vendors, and other departments regarding shipment or receiving status.
    • Maintain electronic and physical files and provide general administrative support to Shipping & Receiving leadership and staff and other tasks as assigned by the manager.
    Requirements:
    • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • Shift work required.
    • 6 years: Administrative, clerical, office support, shipping/receiving, logistics, or related work experience.
    • 6 years: Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    • 6 years: Strong organizational and file-management skills, including maintaining and organizing databases, records, and documentation.
    • 2 years: Accurate data entry and report generation abilities, including formatting documents and processing SwRI forms (invoices, requisitions).
    • A valid/clear driver's license is required.

    • Center for Nuclear Waste Regulatory Analyses-Resolving technical and regulatory issues related to a potential geologic repository for spent nuclear fule and high-level radioactive waste.
    • Chemistry and Chemical Engineering-Performing research and technical services using chemistry and chemical engineering technology.
    • Defense and & Intelligence Solutions-Providing advanced direction finding and tracking systems through geolocation system development.
    • Fuels and Lubricants Research-Performing fuels and lubricants research activities to meet regulatory and competitive goals.
    • Intelligent Systems-Providing engineering services in resaerch and development of complex systems and equipment.
    • Mechanical Engineering-Improving safety, reliability, efficiency and life of new or existing mechanical components or systems.
    • Powertrain Engineering-Designing and developing vehicle and engine components to achieve performance and emissions goals.
    • Space Science & Engineering-Developing and managing advanced scientific payloads aboard satellites and sounding rockets.
