Who We Are:

The Engagement Team within the Human Resources Department is responsible for advising Human Resources, the Executive team, various project teams, and SwRI Advisory Groups on engagement topics, trends, and initiatives. The team coordinates SwRI’s engagement efforts primarily by planning and executing various events for staff, supporting employee resource groups, and participating in community engagement through high school tours and by attending community events. The Engagement Team also coordinates the SwRI-United Way annual campaign. By joining our team, you will receive an additional $500.00 in your first paycheck (minus applicable taxes).

Objectives of this Role:
  • Support internal celebrations, events and acknowledgements.
  • Assist in the planning and organizing of events on campus, help with coordinating off campus events.
  • Support the section by maintaining accurate financial reports and activity logs.
  • Coordinate third party vendor support for larger events.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Perform administrative support for events such as reserving rooms, submitting cafe request forms, and purchasing additional items.
  • Schedules meetings and maintains the SwRI Engagement calendar and activity logs.
  • Supports the coordination of the SwRI-United Way campaign by collecting RSVPs for various events, tracking fundraising activities and organizing volunteer events.
  • Submits purchasing requests for third party vendors needed for multiple events throughout the year.
  • Tracks ERG budgets and expenses per event, submits Workforce Development forms and maintains log of community activities.
Requirements:
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 10-15 years: Administrative experience supporting a department section of 2-4 staff and multiple events.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills with ability to utilize Microsoft and Outlook.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.

  • Chemistry and Chemical Engineering-Performing research and technical services using chemistry and chemical engineering technology.
  • Defense and & Intelligence Solutions-Providing advanced direction finding and tracking systems through geolocation system development.
  • Fuels and Lubricants Research-Performing fuels and lubricants research activities to meet regulatory and competitive goals.
  • Intelligent Systems-Providing engineering services in resaerch and development of complex systems and equipment.
  • Mechanical Engineering-Improving safety, reliability, efficiency and life of new or existing mechanical components or systems.
  • Powertrain Engineering-Designing and developing vehicle and engine components to achieve performance and emissions goals.
  • Space Science & Engineering-Developing and managing advanced scientific payloads aboard satellites and sounding rockets.
