Help

Performs a combination of routine and multiple and varying assignments under the general direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional. Acts as an individual contributor and/or a member of a team for projects/programs within a defined area of responsibility. Performs, monitors and tracks a variety of administrative tasks in implementing an offices administrative programs, policies, and procedures.

Applies experience and detailed knowledge applicable to administrative processes and programs to plan and accomplish assignments. Typical assignments may include collecting and analyzing data/information; conducting research; applying policies and procedures; identifying problems; and working with higher level and lower level professionals in day-to-day operations.

Demonstrates some independence in planning time and using assigned resources to accomplish tasks or small projects.

Serves as the office¿s focal point for internal human capital activities. Coordinates with Human Resources, and generates requests for personnel and administrative actions involving recruitment, transfer, temporary assignments, promotions, awards, and various other personnel actions. Monitors and manages internal organizational processes for other areas such as travel management, time and attendance, records management, training, and employee performance.

Provides procedural information and guidance to management for assigned areas. Follows guidelines, directives and polices for assigned projects/programs. Coordinates, monitors, and executes actions required to manage the District/Technical Services/Engineering Services with regards to management of personnel action requests, employee position actions, pay and leave administrative, performance management, incentive awards, and special employment programs.

Presents briefings and executes actions required to manage the administrative programs. Interprets directives and policies for assigned projects. Provides status briefings to management. Serves as liaison between the OSS/District/Technical Services/Engineering Services and SSC/Team/Center organizations and regional office or service center. Applies experience and detailed knowledge of administrative processes and procedures to accomplish assignments, interpret guidelines and provide District/Technical Services/Engineering Services Manager and Group Manager, advice and counsel on the operation of assigned programs and the interrelationships of such programs. Follows directives and policies for assigned projects.

Contacts are primarily internal to the organizational unit, major subdivision, or LOB/SO with a manager and other employees to share information, provide data and/or written analyses, and/or explain the statuses of assignments. Depending on the specialty, may have frequent contacts with customers and other external parties on routine matters such as gathering information, explaining regulations, and discussing the customers¿ situations. Serves as liaison between the OSS/District/Technical Services/Engineering Services and SSC/Team/Center organizations and regional office or service center.

Incumbent provides procedural information and guidance to management for assigned areas. Interprets guidelines, directives and polices for assigned projects/programs. Provides support for administrative management programs. Established policies/procedures provide guidance for most assignments, but allow some discretion for employee to select the most appropriate approach(es). Typically receives guidance on selecting approaches from a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced professional.

Work typically is reviewed frequently during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness, policy compliance, and alignment with the requirements of projects and/or other work activities. Provides regular status updates to management.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-F (GS/FG-5-9) in the Federal Service. Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION for the G Band: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education may be combined with experience to meet the one year required specialized experience.
