Teaching Support Office (TSO) duties:
- Ensure the office is staffed and able to assist during normal business hours.
- Assist customers (students, faculty, and staff) at the TSO counter, by phone, and through the TSO email.
- Maintain office equipment and supplies, and order office supplies as needed.
- Prepare calendars and similar documents for the TSO and instructors.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of important information.
CBC course administration:
- Copy exams and quizzes in an accurate and timely manner.
- Schedule review sessions as requested.
- Communicate with instructors and TAs to ensure courses run smoothly.
- Act as a D2L liaison, setting up course websites and assisting instructors with D2L questions and issues.
General Chemistry program liaison:
- Meet and communicate with General Chemistry instructional teams.
- Assist with online homework system issues and questions.
- Help plan logistics for common exams, proctoring, and grading of exams.
Student services and assistance:
- Assist with enrollment of new graduate students.
- Collect training certifications and other information from incoming graduate students.
- Assist with student enrollment as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information.
Department responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support, such as planning meetings and taking notes for department committees (e.g., Undergraduate Program Committee).
- Collect data in Analytics as requested (e.g., student enrollment).
- Help plan and run events such as graduate student training and welcome events.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential.
- Familiarity with MS Office and with University systems.
