    Job Description

    Admissions Advisor

Help the people who protect our communities earn their degrees.

Cleary University is a growing, student-centered university in southeast Michigan, and our Adult Accelerated programs are built for working adults. As a Public Safety Admissions Advisor, you’ll guide law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, corrections staff, and other public safety professionals from their first question to their first day of class.

You’ll own the whole relationship: reaching out, listening to a student’s goals, working through concerns like cost, time, and transfer credit, and helping them take each step. You’ll work toward clear enrollment goals, and you’ll see the results of your work in the students who start.

    Why work at Cleary?
    • Generous paid time off and paid holidays
    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
    • Life insurance
    • Retirement plan with a 5% employer match
    • Tuition discount
    • A role with real ownership at a growing university
    What you’ll do
    • Recruit and enroll Adult Accelerated and Public Safety students through phone, text, email, virtual meetings, and in-person visits
    • Own your pipeline of prospective students, from first inquiry through application, enrollment, registration, and start
    • Learn each student’s career and education goals, and help them work through barriers like cost, schedules, transfer credit, and tuition reimbursement
    • Explain Cleary’s programs and the benefits of accelerated study for working adults
    • Keep students moving with clear next steps and deadlines, and follow up consistently
    • Reconnect with past inquiries, incomplete applicants, and inactive leads
    • Lead information sessions, presentations, and one-on-one advising appointments
    • Represent Cleary at police and fire departments, correctional facilities, public safety agencies, employer sites, and community events
    • Work with Enrollment Leadership to spot barriers and improve the student experience
    • Use Salesforce, ZoomInfo, and Microsoft Teams to manage your outreach and track your results

    What you bring
    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Experience in admissions, recruitment, sales, business development, outreach, or another goal-driven, relationship-based role
    • A track record of building relationships, managing a pipeline, following up, and meeting goals
    • Strong phone and interpersonal skills, and an easy way of connecting with working adults and public safety professionals
    • Comfort with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), ZoomInfo, and Microsoft Teams
    • Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle priorities and a large pipeline
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
    • Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and regional travel

    Nice to have
    • 3 or more years in admissions, recruitment, sales, or business development
    • Higher education admissions experience, especially meeting or exceeding enrollment goals
    • Experience with adult, non-traditional, or accelerated students
    • Experience working with law enforcement, fire, EMS, corrections, or government
    • Background in employer partnerships or workforce development
    • Familiarity with Prior Learning Assessment, transfer credit, and tuition reimbursement

    Who thrives here
You’re motivated, persistent, and resilient. You build rapport quickly, you’re comfortable being measured on your results, and you care about students as much as you care about enrollment numbers.

The physical side of the job
You’ll spend much of your time sitting, talking, and using technology. You’ll need to lift up to 10 pounds. This is an onsite role with occasional evening and weekend work and local and regional travel.

    Equal opportunity employer
Cleary University is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and provide equal employment opportunities without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. We provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.
