Admissions Coordinator

Overview:

Murfreesboro Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring an Admissions Coordinator to be a part of our fast-paced and dedicated, innovative team with a highly experienced, new Director of Rehab.

 

We are looking for someone to be responsible for the admission and/or registration of patients into the facility and maintaining communication between the organization and the patient referrals and family.

 

Pay: $35.00-$40.00/hr

Specializing in neuro and ortho, our patients are referred by outside hospitals in surrounding areas to our in-patient setting. We offer occupational, physical, speech, and respiratory therapy, in addition to other services like IV therapy, wound care, and rehabilitation nursing.

 

Our goal is to improve the quality of life by treating patients who are recovering from injury, illness, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, stroke or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities.

 

Our rehabilitation hospital has a large therapy gym with state-of-the-art equipment and an "activities of daily living area" which includes a kitchen and laundry area. Patients receive focused care and comprehensive support they need throughout their journey to improved health.

 

Murfreesboro Rehabilitation Hospital is located within TrustPoint Hospital offering the only acute, hospital-based inpatient physical rehabilitation in Rutherford County.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Greet and search new patients and those transporting patients upon arrival.
• Review, in conjunction with Admission Counselor, prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies and procedures.
• Schedule assessments of voluntary patients.
• Respond promptly to inquiry calls.
• Responsible for clerical duties such as managing paperwork, handling data entry and answering phones.
• Initiate contact, when applicable, to gather required clinical and demographic data from patient and other sources.
• Assist prospective patients and significant others in seeking treatment.
• Assist Admission Counselor in registration of patient to the assigned program.
• Efficient and accurate completion of the admission process of patients and the timely distribution of the paperwork necessary to notify staff of the arrival/transfer of each patient.
• Refer inquiries to other agencies and community resources when not appropriate for facility assistance or admission.
• Ensure all required patient information is received, processed and necessary appointments are made with the proper behavioral or medical health personnel.
• Coordinate with referral sources.
• Coordinate transportation arrangements for patients.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always.  When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints.  Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

• Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One or more years’ experience in healthcare admissions required. Preferably in the mental health or substance abuse field.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

• LPN, Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC); Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor (CCDC) or Certified Employee Assistance Program (CEAP) certification preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility.
