- Admissions Management: Coordinate the complete intake process from initial inquiry to move-in, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulations.
- Referral Development: Build relationships with hospital discharge planners, physicians, and community partners to maintain high, quality-focused census levels.
- Clinical & Financial Screening: Review medical records for appropriateness and verify insurance benefits, payor sources, and financial responsibility.
- Family & Resident Support: Act as the main point of contact, providing tours, explaining services, and offering emotional support to families and prospective residents.
- Coordination & Communication: Collaborate with the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) and administration to manage daily bed availability and ensure the facility can meet the resident's care needs.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential files, including contracts and agreements.
- Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement strategies to meet marketing, census, and quality mix goals for the facility.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: Often requires 1–5+ years in nursing home admissions or related healthcare administration.
- Skills: Exceptional communication (verbal and written), organizational skills, and proficiency with admissions/medical software.
- Emotional Intelligence: Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and interact effectively with elderly or distressed individuals.
