About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join a skilled nursing and rehabilitation team in Newfane, NY.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN leader who enjoys mentoring nursing staff, improving quality of care, and playing an active role in the day-to-day clinical operations of a skilled nursing facility.

Working alongside the Director of Nursing, the ADON will help lead the nursing department, support clinical staff, promote regulatory compliance, and ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing with the daily management and operations of the nursing department.

• Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff throughout the facility.

• Promote high standards of resident care, safety, and clinical quality.

• Assist with developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized resident care plans.

• Mentor and support RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing team members.

• Assist with staff training, education, orientation, and ongoing professional development.

• Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and facility regulations and standards.

• Assist with interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and evaluating nursing staff.

• Ensure nursing documentation and medical records are accurate, complete, and maintained in a timely manner.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address resident needs and improve clinical outcomes.

• Maintain effective communication with residents, families, nursing staff, and facility leadership.

• Help address staffing and clinical needs as they arise, including occasional schedule flexibility.

• Step in for the Director of Nursing as needed and assist with additional clinical leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment.

• Previous nursing leadership, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred.

• Experience training, mentoring, and developing clinical staff.

• Strong knowledge of nursing standards, clinical practices, and regulatory requirements.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing and interdisciplinary teams.

• Commitment to providing compassionate, resident-centered care.
