Job Title: Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Sidney, OH onsite
Duration: 18 months contract
Pay rate: $50 to $60/hr

Job Description:
New Product Development

Lead engineering activities for new product development projects from concept through production release.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches.
Conduct design reviews and risk assessments, including Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
Support prototype development, testing, validation, and product qualification activities.
Ensure products meet customer, regulatory, safety, and quality requirements.
Support value engineering initiatives to optimize product cost and performance.

Manufacturing Support

Provide technical support for production operations and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
Develop and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and assembly procedures.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
Analyze manufacturing data and recommend process improvements.
Assist in root cause investigations and corrective action implementation for quality and production issues.
Collaborate with production personnel to resolve equipment, tooling, and process concerns.
Support capital equipment and automation projects as required.
Evaluate manufacturing capability and capacity to support new product introductions.
Participate in PFMEA, control plan development, and process validation activities.

Project Management

Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to meet customer and business objectives.
Track project milestones and communicate status to stakeholders.
Coordinate resources across multiple departments and facilities.
Support stage-gate or phase-gate product development processes.
Identify risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful project execution.

Must Have:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field.
3+ years of engineering experience in product development, manufacturing, or a combination of both.
Experience with CAD software and engineering drawing standards.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as assembly, machining, fabrication, automation, or refrigeration/HVAC systems.
Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Client Office applications, including Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
Experience with quality tools including FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and 8D.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma training or certification.
CAPM, PMP, or equivalent project management certification.
Experience supporting new product introductions (NPI/NPD).
