To us, packaging is much more than a box—it’s delivering what’s right for our customers, their customers, our people, and the planet.

      About the Role

The Advanced Manufacturing Technician plays a key role in supporting the assembly, testing, and continuous improvement of electro-mechanical machine production. This position focuses on developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical assembly processes, as well as ensuring machines meet performance, reliability, and quality standards before delivery. Working closely with design engineers, production and quality, the technician ensures that every machine is built and tested to customer aligned specifications.

      What You'll Do

      • Support the mechanical and electrical assembly of machines and production equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.
      • Assist in developing and refining assembly and testing procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
      • Set up and conduct machine functional tests, including calibration, performance validation, and troubleshooting.
      • Collect and analyze test data to verify that machines meet required tolerances and operational parameters.
      • Collaborate with engineers to design and implement assembly fixtures, test rigs, and process documentation.
      • Identify and resolve assembly or testing issues, providing feedback to engineering for design or process improvements.
      • Maintain accurate records of assembly steps, test results, and nonconformance reports.
      • Support new product introductions by validating assembly and testing processes for prototype and production builds.
      • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and root cause analysis projects.
      • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards throughout assembly and testing operations.
      • Train and assist production technicians in new product assembly, testing and commissioning standards.

      What You'll Bring

      • Preferred: Associate degree or higher in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
      • 3+ years of experience in machine assembly, testing, or manufacturing engineering technician roles.
      • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on experience assembling industrial machinery or automated systems.
      • Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems.
      • Experience in troubleshooting mechanical and control issues during testing and commissioning.
      • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and test specifications (3DX, Windchill, AutoCAD or SolidWorks experience helpful).
      • Prior experience troubleshooting, repairing, and performing planned maintenance on current Packsize equipment is highly desirable.
      • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
      • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
      • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and precision.
      • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
      • Comfortable using measurement tools, test equipment, and data acquisition systems.
      • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing production requirements.
      • Basic Microsoft Office Suite experience, ability to learn and navigate ERP/MRP systems (SAP).
