How you'll make an impact in this role:Key duties include:
Administrative:
Handling incoming telephone calls related to such matters as refilling prescriptions.
Rescheduling appointments, and clarifying dosing.
Contact no-show patients and reschedule their appointments.
Calling a patient with an in-range INR which includes associated tasks such as interviewing, documenting, scheduling the next INR determination (with supervision and sign-off by a clinical pharmacist).
Dispensing and Inventory Management:
Maintaining and refilling automated dispensing systems.
Preparing orders, managing inventory, and repackaging bulk medications.
Specialized Technical Functions:
Performing specialized tasks such as compounding hazardous drugs, taking medication histories, and assisting with nuclear medicine.
Managing the Patient Assistance Program (PAP).
Patient and Professional Liaison:
Serving as a crucial link between the pharmacy, patients, and other health professionals by ensuring essential information is communicated.
Medication Access Support:
Identifying and facilitating patient access to necessary medications, which includes benefit investigation, managing prior authorizations, and coordinating financial assistance.
