    Job Description Summary:

    As an Aerial Lineman II – Telecom, you’ll play a key role in independently performing installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial fiber optic and coaxial networks. This intermediate-level position requires technical expertise in overhead telecom construction, along with the ability to mentor entry-level linemen. You’ll work closely with your foreman and crew to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to industry standards.

    Job Description:

    What You’ll Do

    • Install and maintain aerial fiber optic and coaxial cables, strand, and hardware on utility poles.
    • Perform strand, anchor, cable lashing, mid-span work, and other advanced construction tasks.
    • Troubleshoot and repair damaged aerial cables, including emergency response repairs.
    • Safely operate bucket trucks and work at heights up to 25–30 feet using ladders or fall protection.
    • Read and interpret construction prints, work orders, and technical documentation.
    • Collaborate with the Aerial Foreman to coordinate work and meet project schedules.
    • Follow OSHA, NESC, and company safety standards, including PPE and traffic control requirements.
    • Provide training and mentorship to Aerial Lineman I employees.
    • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule, responding to after-hours service needs or emergency repairs as required.

    What You’ll Bring

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL preferred).
    • 2–4 years of experience in aerial telecom, broadband, or construction.
    • Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid medical card.
    • Proficiency in overhead telecommunications construction.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in the field.
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills, including mentoring experience.
    • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions, travel to project sites as needed, and perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 75 lbs and working at heights.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • OSHA 10 or 30 certification, First Aid/CPR, or bucket truck certification.
    • Fiber splicing or lineman training certification.
    • Experience with GIS-based field tools or digital job tracking systems.
