Supports tooling engineers with planning, testing and related activities within assigned projects

Job Description

Builds and repairs custom machine shop tools using machining equipment and measuring instruments. Works from blueprints and sketches to create or modify prototypes, tools, dies, jigs, fixtures and molds. Calculates the dimensions and tolerances required to set up the machine tools. Operates lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines to produce tools. Generally, is participating in:

Apprenticeship3–5 years, hands-on training combined with classroom instruction; often the gold standard

Associate degree(e.g., Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Tech)2 years Broader theory plus hands-on; helps with advancement.

Preferably certified with:

• NIMS(National Institute for Metalworking Skills) — the leading industry credential, with certifications in areas like CNC milling, turning, and measurement
• AS9100 / GD&T training— geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (ASME Y14.5) is critical for aerospace
• CAM software proficiency(Mastercam, Esprit, NX)

Expected Compensation: The expected compensation range for this role is

$65,312.00 - $81,536.00.

Please note this represents the expected range. Ultra Maritime considers multiple factors when determining final compensation, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, a candidate’s relevant experience and education, certifications and training, as well as current business and market conditions.
